2022 Mission Teams Update
Mission Teams are officially back at Andrea's Home of Hope & Joy in Bolivia!
After 2 years of not sending mission teams to Bolivia due to COVID, Love In Action International Ministries was excited to have several short-term mission trips planned for 2022. Thank you to all of the team members who traveled to the home to minister to the children and staff.
MAY TEAM - working and finishing the store/cafe/bakery
Some familiar faces and new faces traveled to Bolivia in May. A small team of individuals from Missouri, Jim Beckenbaugh, and the Zimmermans visited Andrea's Home to continue work on the store/cafe/bakery. Kitchen equipment was brought in, birthdays were celebrated, and many good times were enjoyed with the team and the family at Andrea's Home.
JUNE TEAM - working and finishing the store/cafe/bakery
Andrea's Home welcomed a new team from Gary and Jerri Zimmerman's home church in South Carolina. In June, Summerville Baptist Church traveled to Bolivia. The team worked on the transitional apartment for teens who are aging out of the home as well as painting the new cafe storefront. The children at Andrea's Home all enjoyed a variety of activities and games the team brought. While there, the team was able to celebrate the anniversary of Andrea's Home of Hope and Joy with the children and staff.
"Be Flexible" became the team motto when their flights to Santa Cruz were canceled and the team had to make new arrangements to get home. After a challenging and long bus ride to Santa Cruz, the team caught their flight and arrived home safely.
JULY TEAM - continuing transition apartment work and painting
The July team was very excited to return to Bolivia. Team members were from New Jersey and Mountian View Fellowship church. The team worked on some facility maintenance including painting Casa #1. They also continued work on the transition apartment project.
AUGUST TEAM - planned recreation activity and staff appreciation
The final summer team had team members from New Jersey and California and included several Love In Action board members. The August team focused on recreational activities with the children and planned a staff appreciation banquet. The team took the children to a local carnival and a waterpark to close out the summer. We were also blessed to have a professional photographer travel with the New Jersey team. Each time she goes, Kat takes wonderful photographs that we use for our website and print materials.
