In the heart of Bolivia, amidst a diverse culture and challenging circumstances, a beautiful expression of love is at work. Love in Action International Ministries (LIAIM), inspired by the Christian principle of love, has established an orphanage in Guayaramerin. We have taken in children who have been rescued from a poor and vulnerable environment, offering them not just shelter, but a home filled with love, hope, and the promise of a brighter future.
Gary and Harley (featured in the Testimonies Videos) stand as shining examples, among others, of the transformative power of love in action. These two children, once faced with daunting odds due to their circumstances, now thrive in an environment where they are nurtured and supported. Through the dedication of our teams and the generosity of supporters, we've seen lives changed, destinies rewritten, and hope restored.
Guayaramerín itself is a city with its own unique charm and challenges. Located in the north of Bolivia, near the border with Brazil, it sits along the banks of the Mamoré River, surrounded by Amazon rainforest. Despite its natural beauty, Guayaramerín faces economic hardships and social issues, leaving many families struggling to provide for their children. The drug cartels operate heavily in this area, and kids face and succumb to the dilemma of struggling economically or surrendering themselves to the service of narcotrafficking that could lead them to prison or even death.
In the midst of these challenges, Love in Action has become a beacon of hope. Our orphanage not only provides a safe haven for children for those who are abused, abandoned, extremely poor and orphaned, but also offers educational opportunities, spiritual guidance, and a loving community where they can thrive and grow.
As we continue our mission in Guayaramerín, we are reminded of the words of Jesus, who said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these" (Matthew 19:14, NIV). We believe that every child is precious in the eyes of God and deserves to be loved and cared for. Through our work, we strive to reflect God's love and bring His kingdom closer to those in need.
